Austrian national final for Eurovision 2016 announced

ORF, the Austrian national broadcaster, is ready to boost the country’s selection for the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

Wer singt für Österreich? (Who sings for Austria?) will be the name of the national final, which will take place on February 12.
Ten acts will compete to represent the host country of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Nine will be selected by an expert commission, while the public can vote for the tenth candidate on Facebook.
The Austrian selection is already underway, fans can follow the selection live on the official Austrian Eurovision Song Contest Facebook page. Starting from mid-December, the fans will have the chance to select the wildcard candidate by “liking” their favorite act.
The wildcard pool is open for submission until December 11. The winning wildcard will join the other nine acts in the final. The remaining acts will be chosen by by radio presenter and musician Eberhard Forcher and the ORF Eurovision Song Contest team.
Austria was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 by the Makemakes coming in 26th place with nul points. This is the first time that a host country scores nul points in the contest.
