The Eurovision Song Contest began in 1956 and the 2015 contest will be the 60th edition. For the 50th anniversary in 2005, Denmark held an anniversary show. This year it is the turn of the BBC to hold the 60th Anniversary show, reports Tuner.be.
The show will be hosted by BBC commentator and comedian Graham Norton, and host of the 2013 contest in Malmö, Petra Mede. The show will be held in the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Eurovision stars, Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014), Lordi (Finland 2006) and Loreen (Sweden 2012) are all expected to make an appearance at the glamourous event.
Denmark’s show in 2005, titled Congratulations, featured a vote for the best Eurovision songs of all time with Waterloo by ABBA being the eventual winner. It is not yet known if the BBC will host a similar vote or just stick to celebrating the history of Europe’s favourite TV show.
