The national broadcaster of Belarus, BTRC (Belteleradiocompany), has announced that they have begun accepting applications for entries to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

“First of all, I want to thank all the members of the organizing committee, which met and discussed a number of important issues. Soon, we will post the company’s terms and conditions of the qualifying round on the site.  From now on, we will start accepting applications,” Olga Schlyager, chief director of the main channel “Belarus 2” and head of the Belarusian national selection.

The deadline for submissions has been set for November 24.  On November 29, 15 finalists will be announced.

From the submissions, the 15 entries will be chosen to compete in a final that will be broadcast live. The exact date of the final has not been announced yet, but it is expected to air in early January. There will be no semi-finals.

“Our republic’s final will be carried out in early January. It will be a Christmas final. And by January 10, there will be a defined representative to Eurovision 2014,” said Gennadiy Davyd’ko, chairman of BTRC.

The winner will be determined by a combination of votes from a jury and the results of the televote. The winner will go on to represent Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
