Bosnia and Herzegovina returning with "Ljubav je" to Eurovision

Bosnia and Herzegovina returning with “Ljubav je” to Eurovision
Kevin Lee

Bosnia & Herzegovina is coming back to Eurovision this year, and the song they will send is “Ljubav je” (Love is) by Dalal & Deen feat. Ana Rucner and Jala.

A Grand Debut For the Return

The song premiered with a special performance by the foursome inside the beautifully renovated City Hall in the capital Sarajevo. It was a symbolic location, as the City Hall had been all but destroyed in the 90s during the Bosnian conflict, but now stands stronger than before. Bosnia & Herzegovina is experiencing a rebirth into Eurovision after being absent since 2012.

A Somewhat Familiar Face

Die-hard Eurovision fans might recognise Deen, whom represented the country back in 2004 with the song “In The Disco.” Now sporting no hair and a beard, the dramatic change in appearance matches the change in style of song. Speaking of his experience in Istanbul, Deen said, “I was really young, just 20 years old. Besides, those were different times, different circumstances and we did our best and also achieved good results. This is different and I’m really looking forward to be part of the Eurovision again.

Dalal, Ana Rucner and Jala

Dalal is a vocalist known for singing ballads and jazz songs, while Ana Rucner is a known Croatian-born cellist. The group will be rounded off by hip hop artist Jala.
