Bosnia & Herzegovina returns to Eurovision!

Today, Bosnia & Herzegovina’s broadcaster, BHRT, announced that Bosnia & Herzegovina will return to Eurovision and, thus, compete in the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The official confirmation was made be Dejan Kukric, Head of Entertainment, Factual Entertainment, and Music at BHRT.  The deadline for submitting the application for participation in Eurovision 2014 is Friday, November 22.

Last year, BHRT and Bosnia & Herzegovina did not participate in the contest due to financial reasons.  Even though not much has changed financially this year, BHRT hopes to find a solution to allow them to participate.

“The financial situation has not improved since last year.  Hence, BHRT’s management board believes that a solution has to be found in order to satisfy the Bosnian viewers’ interests and stop distancing itself from the EBU, one of the most important European public services,” said Kukric.

BHRT’s Management Board has opted to make a “special multimedia project” called BH Eurosong 2014, which will be funded fully by outside sources. BHRT will partner with outside companies and organizations, hoping to obtain sponsers for BH Eurosong 2014.
