The Eurovision queen of Australia, Dami Im, has responded to all of the comments about “being robbed” in the Grand Final, where she placed first in the jury vote but fourth in the televote, ending up in second place.
The star has stated that she is happy that she managed to get such a high place. She was shocked when Australia was sitting on the top of the leaderboard during the final.
Better than I ever imagined
On the TV-show Sunrise, Dami Im said:
“In the end, I came second and that’s still much better than I ever imagined myself to do at, you know, the biggest stage in the world. […] I’m still very, very grateful for the opportunity to have been there. […] I have this new opportunity that’s opened up for me and I have got all the support from Australia. […] That was everything for me. So I’m not complaining about anything.”
Meanwhile Dami’s “Sound of Silence” dominates the European charts and she herself is planning to return in Europe in the future.
