Details of German selection announced!

The German Broadcaster NDR has announced their national selection will take place, as last year, in two parts.

First, a Club Concert for unknown acts will allow one lucky winner to advance to the final with established acts, live from Hannover.

The format continues

Unser Song Für Österreich will follow the same format that the Germans have been using since 2010, when they gained their second victory with Lena Meyer-Landrut.

The show usually consists of various eliminating rounds, in which artists sing two songs each, with the eventual winner going on to represent Germany, although the format has slightly varied over the years.

German singer-songwriter, Andreas Bourani, has invited young artists from across Germany to upload their performances to the website Unser-song-fuer-oesterreich.de. Last year, 10 unknown acts were selected for the Club Concert in this manner, taking place before the national final. The winner of this part of the process will be a wildcard act at Unser Song Für Österreich. Last year, the wildcard selected, girl band, Elaiza, went on to win the competition and represent Germany in Copenhagen. Elaiza finished in 18th place at Eurovision 2014 with 39 points.

Actress, singer, and TV-presenter Barabra Schöneberger is reprising her role as host of both the Club Concert and the national final.

The Club Concert will air on February 19, live from Hamburg, while the German representative for Vienna will be found on March 5, live from the Hannover Arena.
