Eurovision 2015 postcards format revealed!
Today ORF, Austrian national broadcaster and organiser of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, announced the concept of this year’s postcards – the video interludes that introduce each country before their live song performance during the semi-finals and grand final.
Each country’s postcard will show their representative receiving an invitation to one of the nine regions of the host city, Vienna. The next stage of the postcard will see the representatives travelling around the province their have been invited to and completing a task in order to reach Vienna. These tasks will cover a variety of subject areas and styles including culture, sports, economics, science, traditional style and modern style. The aim of this format is to emphasise the theme of Eurovision 2015: Building Bridges.
The 40 nations that are taking part in this year’s contest will be creating and filming the postcards until the end of April.
For the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, the participants from each country were set the challenge of recreating their own country’s flag in a creative and imaginative way, the full selection of which can be viewed here.
