Elhaida Dani began singing at a young age and she has studied piano from the age of 6.
She made her first televised appearance in 2008, participating in Kënga Magjike, a major musical event in Albania.
In 2009, at age sixteen, Elhaida won Albania’s version of Star Academy.At age eighteen, Elhaida moved to Tirana where she studied musicology in the University of Arts and began singing live with her band.
Elhaida has won several competitions, in Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Romania. In 2013, Elhaida won the first season of The Voice of Italy. She was mentored by Riccardo Cocciante.
Elhaida Dani competed in the 50th edition of Festival i Këngës with “Mijëra vjet”, where she ended up with “nul points” in the final.
In December 2014, Elhaida competed in the 53rd edition of Festival i Këngës with the song “Diell”. She made it to the final and won the competition, and the right to represent Albania at Eurovision 2015 with “Diell.”However, in February 2015, Elhaida announced on her Facebook page that the writers of “Diell” were withdrawing the song from Eurovision 2015 and she would sing a new song in Vienna.
Elhaida will sing “I’m Alive” in Vienna.
