Pop and rock singer Daniel was born in south Macedonia in 1983. Daniel was named after Yugoslavia’s Eurovision 1983 representative, Daniel Popovic. At age seven, he and his family moved to Vienna, Austria.
Daniel competed in his first musical competition at age seventeen. In 2009 he performed his own composition at Ohrid Fest in Macedonia. He also participated in Bulgarian television show, Pej S’men. In 2011, Daniel wrote the song “Ne se vrajkas” for Karolina Goceva which became a huge hit in Macedonia.Daniel entered the first season of X Factor Adria in 2013. There, Daniel was mentored by Eurovision veteran Željko Josimovi.
Daniel went on to win X Factor Adria and subsequently released a single with Željko Josimovi titled “Skopje-Beograd.” Daniel has also released duets with Zlatno Slavejce and Tamara Todevska.
Daniel chose to enter his song “Lisja Esenski” into Skopje Fest 2014. He was chosen to compete in the final on November 12, against nineteen other acts. After votes from the jury and the public, Daniel scored the most points and was declared the winner.In March 2015, it was revealed that Daniel’s song would be sung in English in Vienna. The English title of the song is “Autumn Leaves.”
