Amber was born in Kalkara, Malta in 1991. Amber began singing at age five. As a child she took part in various school plays and was part of a choir. Amber trained in judo until the age of fifteen, when an injury forced her to quit.
At age sixteen, Amber appeared in Trid Tarah and The Academy. During these shows, she developed her personal style of music, Jazz and Blues. At age eighteen, Amber took part in talent competition I.D, where she eventually finished in second place.In 2012, Amber performed as a backing vocalist for Kurt Calleja at Eurovision in Baku.
Amber’s musical influences are Etta James and Beyonce. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education & Care at the University of Malta.
Amber competed in Malta Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2011 and has entered every year since then. In late 2014, Amber applied to take part in the 2015 edition of the contest.
In October, Amber was announced as one of the twenty semi finalist of MESC, with the song “Warrior”. The semi final took place on November 21, and Amber was one of sixteen acts chosen to advance to the final.In the final on November 21, Amber received the maximum votes from the jury and the public vote. She was crowned the winner of MESC, and the Maltese representative for Eurovision 2015.
A revamped version of “Warrior” was released in March.
