“Há Um Mar Que Nos Separa”

  • Singer, songwriter and actress, Leonor was born in Portugal in 1994. Leonor began playing the piano at the age of four. Her first experience as a performer was as part of the rock-band, Mariacaffe, which she formed with her brother and two friends.

    Leonor first became known in Portugal, when she appeared on The Voice of Portugal in 2014. Leonor was mentored by Anselmo Ralph and made it to the semi-finals of the show.

    After this, Leonor landed an acting role on Portuguese television series, Água de Mar.

    Leonor is currently studying law at Universidade de Lisboa.

  • Portuguese broadcaster, RTP, invited Leonor to sing “Há um mar que nos separa” as one of the twelve entries in Festival da Canção 2015. The entries were revealed to the public on February 19.

    Festival da Canção 2015 commenced on March 3. Leonor took part in the first semi final. After the six acts performed, Leonor was one of three acts voted to advance to the final.

    Festival da Canção’s final took place on March 7. The six acts that had qualified from the semi final shows all took to the stage. After the performances, a televote chose Leonor to advance to the superfinal and compete against two other acts. After a final performance, Leonor was voted the winner of Festival da Canção 2015, and the Portuguese representative for Eurovision 2015.
