Romanian pop-rock band, Voltaj was originally formed in 1982. Since then, the group has gone through many different line ups. The band’s current line up consists of Călin Goia, Gabi Porcus, Adrian Cristescu, Valeriu Prunus Ionescu, and Oliver Sterian.
Voltaj have had hit songs such as Lumea E A Mea, Da Vina Pe Voltaj and 20. They have performed concerts in several counties including Austria, Italy, Spain and Ireland.In 2005, Voltaj was voted the Best Romanian Act in the MTV Europe Music Awards.
In 2014, Voltaj started their campaign, delecapat.ro, which supports children who are left alone by their parents who go to work outside the borders of Romania. This campaign was the inspiration for their Eurovision entry, “All Over Again.”
In February, Voltaj was announced as one of the twelve participants of Romanian national final, Selecția Națională. The song that Voltaj had entered, “De la capăt,” is based on their campaign delecapat.ro, which supports children who are left alone by their parents who go to work outside the borders of Romania.
On March 8, the Romanian final took place and Voltaj were the first to grace the stage with their song “De la capăt.”After the votes were cast, Voltaj were awarded top points by both the jury and the Romanian public. Voltaj won the right to fly Romania’s flag at Eurovision 2015.
In late March, it was announced that Voltaj would sing their song in two languages in Vienna, English and Romanian. The bilingual version of their song is called “All Over Again.”
