Will the Eurovision Song Project return in Cyprus for 2016?
George Dalakouras

For 2015, the Cypriot national broadcaster CyBC used a new, big format called the Eurovision Song Project to select their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

The show was a big success for the broadcaster.

Recently, an official from CyBC gave an interview where he mentioned the possible return of the format for 2016. When asked what he will do to increase the audience, he said:

“In 2016 we are going to broadcast the Olympic Games, Euro and the Eurovision Song Project which are considered to be public goods.”

This statement could be a first confirmation about the Cypriot participation for 2016 and the process that will choose the song!

An official announcement about the Cypriot plans for Eurovision 2016 has yet to be made.

This year, Cyprus was represented by the Eurovision Song Project winner John Karayiannis, who placed 22nd in the Grand Final with “One Thing I Should Have Done.”
