We managed to talk with Elhaida and to answer our questions about her upcoming participation!
Your song is one of the most watched Eurovision entry this year, what do you think, Can you win the Eurovision Song Contest with “I’m Alive”?
I don’t want to think about winning. Only being part of one of the biggest music shows in the world is enough, I want to give my all in the stage and enjoy.
What is the main message of “I’m Alive“?
This song talks about and supports strong women. I like to show to the world how strong we are, we have big hearts and give so much love, and even if we get hurt, we can be so strong and stand up.
“I will give my all to never disappoint”
What are your feelings about representing your country in Eurovision?
Representing my country Albania in this competition has been a very emotional decision from the beginning. My Albanian public has always been so supportive and I will give my all to never disappoint.
Yes, it is a tough question, but which song you personally like more, “Diell” or “I’m Alive”?
I’ve been in studio with the composers ZzapnChriss from the beginning of “I’m Alive” until the final results, so i would say that I feel a lot with this song.
Did you watch Eurovision before? Which is your all time favorite?
I’ve been watching Eurovision for a very few years now, but I have to say that I really compliment all the Albanian entries until now. Also, I have always loved Italian, Spanish, and Swedish entries.
Did you listen this year’s songs and which ones do you like?
I have heard almost all songs. Very good competitors and very good songs. I am happy to be on the same stage with these artists.
“I’m loving how the public is reacting to the song”
How did your fans all over the Europe comment on your song “I’m Alive” and what did your coach in “The Voice,” Riccardo Cocciante, think about “I’m Alive”?
I’m loving how the public is reacting to the song “I’m Alive,” and I am very happy about that. Riccardo supports me in every choice that I make. He says that everything that I feel is right, I have to do.
Did you think anything about the staging in Eurovision? Can you give us a little secret?
Of course me and my team have started working on the staging, but I don’t want to reveal any surprise. :D
Last year, Albania was in the top 5 for the worst costumes (Barbara Dex Award). Will more attention be given to clothes this year?
Absolutely the look is very important, but as always I will be a fan of being myself and being comfortable on the stage during my performance.
“I’m a lucky girl”
Did you ever think that you would win “The Voice of Italy” and then you will perform on Europe’s biggest stage, Eurovision?
I have always thought that someday I would want to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, but I never thought that I would be the winner of The Voice of Italy. I’m a lucky girl :D
If you weren’t a professional singer, what do you think you would be working with?
I don’t know, and I’m so happy that I didn’t have to find out until now :D
How do you best like to spend your time when you aren’t busy working?
I love to spend my free time reading, and lately I’ve discovered my new hobby for kickboxing.
Besides music, what keeps you happy and motivated in life?
Are you planning any promotion or touring before Eurovision? If yes, which countries? And, are you planning to go to Italy, and which cities are possible?
My promotional tour for “I’m Alive” consists in cities like Amsterdam, London, Athens, etc.
What do you hope people will remember you for once Eurovision is over?
For the solar girl singing her heart out on the Eurovision stage, and for giving the strong message of the equality of human beings.
Do you have any message for our readers?
Thank you all for the support you’re showing and the infinite messages I get everyday.
