First meeting for Eurovision 2017 takes place with NTU and EBU
On June 1, the first meeting between the EBU and the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU) took place in Kyiv in preparation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Ukraine.
Gathered at the meeting from the EBU were Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of Eurovision, and Jean Philip De Tender, who is Media Director. From NTU were Director-General Zurab Alasaniya, Deputy Director-General Oleksandr Kharebin, Hanna Bychok (Deputy Director of Financial Affairs), and Viktoria Romanova (Deputy Director-General of Internation Cooperation).
Soon, a document will be signed that outlines the agreement between the EBU and NTU regarding the organization of Eurovision 2017. Stressed above all else was security at Eurovision. EBU stated that Eurovision in 2017 must be safe for all press, fans, delegations, and organizers at all times at the official areas.
Also, NTU will set certain guidelines for hosting of Eurovision soon. In a soon-to-be-published document, NTU will outline what each city needs to have available in order to be eligible.
The next meeting will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from June 13-14, 2016.
