France opts for internal selection for 2015
The new French broadcaster for the Eurovision Song Contest, called France 2, has confirmed that France will choose its 2015 entry with an internal selection.
In 2014, France Télévisions opted for a national final with its old broadcaster France 3, with three songs presented and one winner selected by a jury and the public (50/50). The selected entry, “Moustache,” sung by TWIN TWIN, wasn’t the favorite of the public and of the jury at Eurovision, with the song reaching only 26th place with 2 points. That was the first time that we saw France at last place in Eurovision history.
France wants to improve its audiences and results with a more popular French channel. France Ô (the channel for the French overseas regions) will broadcast the two semi-finals, and France 2 will broadcast the final.
According to Europe 1 Radio, Nathalie André, the France 2 director of entertainment, will choose herself the French 2015 representative. Good luck!
