Winning with televote

Frans was beaten by a single point by Oscar Zia in the jury vote, with Ace Wilder in third place. However, when the televote was revealed, Ace Wilder unfortunately only managed to pull in an eighth place with the Swedish people, while Oscar Zia came in third. Frans won the televote ahead of Wiktoria, and combined finished in first place.

A very split result

Overall, the televote results were very split, with no clear and big winners. Frans won with only about 14 percent, or 68 points.

Last year, Heroes won with 35,1 percent of the televote, or 166 points, a combined 288 points with the juries added. Frans’ combined total only came to 156. Back in 2012, Loreen received 154 points in the televote, resulting in a combined 268 points with the juries.

Following Sweden’s win last year, Frans is directly qualified to the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.
