French artist for Eurovision to be announced on March 12
France 2, the French broadcaster for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 has decided to internally select their representative. The final decision will be revealed on the March 12.
The selection process
For this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, France decided to work with a new team. In September 2015, Edoardo Grassi was appointed as the new head of delegation. This marked the beginning of the selection process.
It has been revealed that the yet-to-be-announced representative will perform a song with both English and French lyrics. In total, 280 songs were submitted and reviewed.
Although France 2 has not revealed further details about the artist and the song selected or the format that will be used to announce their choice, France 2 published on Twitter a teasing picture showing a dressing room full of make-up articles:

France was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 by Lisa Angell ending in 25th place with only four points.
