Georgian broadcaster GPB had internally selected Nika Kocharov and the Young Georgian Lolitaz as the act to represent Georgia through an internal selection back in December. A competition was then held to find the song in which the entrant would sing.

Over 100 submission were entered in the the song contest, where an expert commission narrowed the choice down to five.

The Five Songs
  • Midnight Gold
  • Pain in My Heart
  • Sugar and Milk
  • Right or Wrong
  • We Agree

Not Even A Close Call

With a combination of an international jury and 11 day long public vote, it was revealed that “Midnight Gold” had won the contest. The song decimated the public competition scoring 1,310 from the public vote, easily eclipsing second place “We Agree” which received only 142 public votes.

Interestingly the jury had “Midnight Gold” as second place, being one point behind “Sugar and Milk.
