Greek Eurovision stars nominated in MAD VMA 2015

Greece is getting ready for one of the biggest local music events: the MAD Video Music Awards (MAD VMA), which have taken place for more than 10 years.

MAD TV Greece has also been the sponsor of the Greek national final for Eurovision since 2013. Each and every year, many Greek artists who have taken part in Eurovision are nominated.

 

Helena Paparizou nominated

This year, big Greek Eurovision stars have nominations again. Helena Paparizou is nominated for three different awards. The most important of these is the “Best Female Modern”. In addition, her song “Stin akri tou kosmou” (featuring popular Greek band Stavento) is nominated in the other 2 categories: “Best Urban Video” and “Best Duet”.

 

 

 

Two nominations for Sakis

Sakis Rouvas, who has represented Greece twice, is nominated in two different categories, for “Best Male Modern” and “Best Pop Video” with his up tempo song “Pio psila”.

 

 

 

This year’s Eurovision star

Maria Elena Kyriakou is also on the way to an award. She is nominated in the category for “Best New Artist”. Maria Elena Kyriakou got this nomination due to the great steps she has taken in the music industry, like winning The Voice and competing in Eurovision for Greece this year.

 

 

 

Also, some artists who have tried to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest have nominations. They are:

  • Kostas Martakis (Candidate in 2008, 2014) nominated for “Best Urban Video”, “Best Duet”, “Best Male Modern”
  • Shaya Hansen (Candidate in 2015) nominated for “Best Female Modern”
  • Josephine (Candidate in 2014) nominated for “Best Dance Video”, “Best Duet”
  • Tamta (Candidate in 2007) nominated for “Best Female Modern”
  • Peggy Zina (Candidate in 2002) nominated for “Best Female Adult”
  • Melisses (Candidate in 2010) nominated for “Best Pop – Rock Video”, “Best Video of the Year”, “Best Group”, “Best Song of the Year”

 

The MAD Video Music Awards air on June 29 on MAD TV.
