Post-Eurovision interview with Azerbaijan's Dilara Kazimova!
It has been almost four months since the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.
We managed to catch up with the lovely Azerbaijani representative Dilara Kazimova and got to hear a bit more about her Eurovision song and her experience in Copenhagen.
How was your song chosen? Was it prepared for just for you?
The song was chosen by the national jury. I was happy with their choice since I liked the song the first time I heard it. Especially with such a strong lyrics and clear anti-war message.
“The most important for me was to deliver my best possible performance for my fans”
Did you think you were going to win Böyük Sehne?
Of course I wanted to win. If you don’t want to win, what’s the point to join any contest or competition. However, the most important for me was to deliver my best possible performance for my fans during the national selection.
Can you tell about your choreography?
Was there any choreography on the stage? Did I miss something? :)
How were your Eurovision weeks in Copenhagen?
Absolutely amazing. I loved the time we spent in Copenhagen. It was very intense and challenging, but since I was working with a great team of professionals, I still enjoyed it.
Can you talk a bit about the promo tours you did before Eurovision?
I think we spent 10 days touring and visited five countries. Sometimes it was like we are having a late night event somewhere in Moscow and next afternoon doing another TV show in a different country. Lots of travelling and fun.
“It’s not so much about the result but experience and a great lesson I’ve learned from Eurovision”
What do you think about your result at Eurovision?
Well, for me it’s not so much about the result but experience and a great lesson I’ve learned from Eurovision. I’m sure it will help me in my future music career.
Who was your Eurovision winner?
I think everyone’s winner was Conchita that night.
Finally, where do you want to see yourself five years from now?
On a sunny beach with a cocktail. Joking! :) I will be doing the same as I’ve always been doing. I’m totally devoted to music and it won’t change in five years time.
Thank you so much for your time Dilara, all the best of luck for the future!
