Edurne: "It is a very different style which Spain has never sent"
It is more than sure now: Edurne will fly the Spanish flag in the 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Vienna, Austria!
Yesterday morning, Edurne was officially presented as the Spanish act in a press conference organized in the RTVE studios.
Edurne was kind enough to give interviews to all media attending the press conference.
Hi Edurne, thank you for answering a few questions!
First, why have you decided to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest?
I always loved this contest and this year I even got the opportunity to represent my own country, so I couldn’t refuse it.
Could you tell us a little more about the entry you will perform in Vienna?
My song is called “Amanecer,” which means “Dawn” in English. I totally felt in love with it the first time I listened, it is a very different style which Spain has never sent. It is a pop song composed by the creator of Euphoria (Sweden 2012), Quédate conmigo (Spain 2012) or Más/Run (2014 Spanish National Final).
Do you already know what your performance will look like?
Today I will start working with my team to give you the best Spanish performance ever in the contest! I guess I will dance, but nothing is sure yet.
Will you also record an English version of the song?
As I told you, we still do not know what we are going to do, but of course I would love to. I will try to make a lot of promotion all around Europe.
Your boyfriend (David de Gea) is very famous in the United Kingdom. Do you think it will benefit you?
Well I hope to! But I will try to make them love my song.
When will we get to listen to your entry?
I am finishing recording it now, so I hope you all be able to listen it in two or three weeks.
Is there something else you would like to add?
Yes, of course. TVE will broadcast the two semi-finals this year, so that means that they are really interested about the contest in 2015, who knows, I guess they want to win.
We really have to thank Edurne for offering her interview to the Spanish mass-media, and of course the team of ESC Reporter will support her in Vienna!
