Ireland to choose February 27!
RTE, Ireland’s national broadcaster, have revealed that Ireland’s entry for Eurovision 2015 will be chosen on February 27.
Ireland will once again be using The Late Late Show as a platform to choose their representative for Eurovision.
There will be five songs competing to represent Ireland in Vienna this year. The five songs are expected to be revealed two weeks before the show.
For the first time in four year’s anyone in the Irish Republic were invited to enter Eurosong 2015. Contestants rumoured to appear include Leanne Moore (Eurosong 2010 with ‘Does Heaven Need Much More?‘) with girl band, Lir, and UK X Factor contestant Mary Byrne with a song written by Karl Broderick (writer of Ireland’s 2005 entry, ‘Love?‘).
Last year, Ireland was represented by Kasey Smith and Can-linn. They finished at 12th place in semi-final 2 with 35 points.
