Israel opts for internal artist selection

IBA, Israel’s national broadcaster, confirmed to us yesterday that the Israeli entry in Eurovision 2014 will be selected differently than recent years.
Setting the format of Kdam aside, IBA will choose an artist internally through a committee in 2014. Once the artist is decided upon, the public will be invited to send songs to IBA for the artist.
From then, the same committee will chose only three songs from the submissions. The artist will then perform these three songs in a live national final, where the winner will be determined by the television audience solely.
The winner of the final will go on to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Dates to be determined. Stay tuned for more details!
