Jamala will represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2016!
After six acts battled to represent Ukraine in Eurovision 2016, Jamala with “1944” was declared the winner. The results were determined by a combination of televoting and the votes of a professional jury.
The running order of the show
- Brunettes Shoot Blondes – Every Monday
- NeAngely (NuAngels) – Higher
- The Hardkiss – Helpless
- Jamala – 1944
- SunSay – Love Manifest
- Pur:Pur – We Do Change
Jamala won the televote, while The Hardkiss got the top points from the professional jury. Both entries were tied, which in this case was broken by the televote, declaring Jamala and “1944” the winner.
Jamala (real name Susana Jamaladinova) previously participated in the national final for Ukraine in 2010 with the song “Smile,” which landed at third place.
Jamala will go on to represent Ukraine in its comeback in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden.
