Kaliopi to represent Macedonia at Eurovision 2016!
Macedonian national broadcaster MKRTV has announced that Kaliopi has been chosen to represent Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm!
The song will be revealed at the end of February in a special televised show.
A third time for Kaliopi
Born in Macedonia on December 28, 1966, Kaliopi Bukle is one of the most popular pop-singers in the Balkans, with six studio albums and several awards under her belt.
In Sweden, it will be the third time that she represents Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest. Kaliopi first participated in the competition in 1996 with the song “Samo Ti,” but failed to qualify for the final from a pre-selection round administered by the EBU back then.
In 2012, Kaliopi represented her country again with the entry “Crno i belo,” qualifying and placing 13th in the Grand Final in Baku, the second-best result for Macedonia, after a 12th place in 2006. 2012 was also the last time Macedonia qualified for the Grand Final.
