Lena to judge German candidates for Eurovision 2017
Alvaro Sanabria

The German representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and 2011 Lena Meyer-Landrut will be one of the jurors in the 2017 German national selection Eurovision
Song Contest – Unser Song 2017.

Although the public will take the final choice for the selection, Lena will comment the acts along with German musicians Tim Bendzko and Florian Silbereisen. The application process has already started through www.unsersong2017.de and Lena is already encouraging new acts to send their songs to wave the German flag in Kyiv next year:

“I can only advise everyone to send in their applications. It could be the best decision of your life. It could change everything.”

Lena won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 with the song Satellite.

Eurovision Song Contest – Unser
Song 2017
back to basics

After getting disappointing results in the last two editions of the
Eurovision Song Contest, the German public broadcaster has decided to use the
same format that gave the country their most recent winner:  A talent show featuring five young and
promising singers, performing songs commissioned from globally successful
producers.

A group of experts will first assess the applications and reduce the number
of acts to 30 candidates who will compete to qualify to the second round of
castings.

However, only five acts will make it to the national final. The German national selection will take place in Cologne on February 9, 2017 at 20:15. Barbara Schöneberger, who is well known for announcing the German voting results in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest and hosting the German national finals will present Eurovision Song Contest –
Unser Song 2017
.
