Macedonian broadcaster MRT has announced that their submission period is now open for songs for the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Sofia, Bulgaria on November 21.

Submissions must be received by MRT by September 5 this year, with auditions taking place at MRT’s studio in Skopje the following day.

Participants have the choice to sing a song of their choosing, or to sing one of two previous Macedonian Junior Eurovision songs, “Prati mi SMS” – the song that scored fifth place for Bobi Andonov at Junior Eurovision 2008, or “Eooo, Eooo,” which scored 12th place for Anja Veterova at Junior Eurovision in 2010. Normal Junior Eurovision rules apply: All participants must be aged between 10-15 on the day of the Junior Eurovision Grand Final in November.

Macedonia will make a welcome return to the Junior Eurovision stage in 2015, having sat on the sidelines in 2014 following a disastrous last-place finish for Barbara Popovic in Kyiv at Junior Eurovision 2013. Good luck Macedonia, the Junior Eurovision family is delighted to have you back with us.

Here is a reminder of Barbara Popovic’s JESC 2013 performance with her song, “Ohrid i muzika.”
