MAD VMA 2015: Greek Eurovision stars take it all!

While the economic future of Greece is uncertain and a referendum is on the way, the annual MAD Video Music Awards took place on Monday, showing a more positive side of Greece.

Several Eurovision stars were nominated for awards and the results did not disappoint.


Helena Paparizou wins “Best Urban Video”

The Greek queen of Eurovision, Helena Paparizou, managed to win the award for “Best Urban Video” with “Stin Akri tou Kosmou,” which she created with the popular band Stavento. Both of the artists were absent, so the lead singer of Stavento sent a video message to thank the fans.




Maria Elena Kyriakou is the “Best New Artist”

Maria Elena Kyriakou, winner of The Voice of Greece and the 2015 Greek Eurovision representative, won the award in the category of “Best New Artist.”




Eleni Foureira wins in two categories and sings “Golden Boy”

Eleni Foureira, one of the favorite artists to represent Greece in Eurovision, won the award for “Best Dance” with her song “Party, sleep, repeat.” One is never enough for Eleni Foureira though. She also won the award in the category “MAD Cyprus.”

Eleni Foureira gave an amazing performance on stage. She sang the Greek version of the Israeli entry “Golden Boy” called “Sto theo me paei”.



Eleni Foureira also gave a performance with Claydee, Faydee, BO and Dead Prezz




Melisses wins two awards

The boyband Melisses tried to represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. Nowadays, they’ve met huge success. Having won two awards in the categories “Best Song of the Year” and “Best Rock,” they couldn’t have been more happy! The band also gave a performance of the song which gave them the awards; “Ena.”




Sakis Rouvas wins one award

Sakis Rouvas, who represented Greece twice, managed to win one award for “Best Male Modern.” After his victory, he gave an amazing show for all of his fans. He sang his new song “Fila Me.”




Keti Garbi on stage

Keti Garbi, the 1993 Greek representative in Eurovision, gave a live performance with the up and coming artist Stan. They performed her massive hit “Anemodarmena Ipsi” and the stadium was on fire!




Kostas Martakis on stage

Kostas Martakis tried to represent Greece twice – with no success. During the show he gave two performances; one solo and one featuring Risky Kidd from Eurovision 2014.




Despina Vandi rocks!

Despina Vandi hosted the Greek national final, “Eurosong A MAD show 2013” and “Eurosong A MAD Show 2014” and has always been a huge favorite to represent Greece. On the award show, Despina Vandi won the award for “Best Female Adult” and performed her new song “Ti simasia ehei.”




Kalomira is back!

Kalomira was the open act! The girl who gave us her “Secret Combination” back in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 is back in Greece. She performed her brand new song and gave the ultimate performance!



Kalomira also sang with the popular band “KINGS” and they gave so much dance on the floor!
