Malta announces dates and participants

PBS, Malta’s national broadcaster, has received 210 submissions to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
PBS announced that they will hold a semi-final on February 7 and the final on February 8, 2014. We also now have the preliminary list of entries. The list of 70 can be found here. Notable entries are Miriam Christine, who represented Malta in 1996, and Fabrizio Faniello, who represented Malta in 2001 and 2006. Daniel Testa, who represented Malta in Junior Eurovision in 2008, is also one of the names.
These entries will go through a “knock-out” stage, where only 20 will make it to the televised shows. These 20 entries will be officially announced on the TV program “Xarabank” on November 29.
On February 7, the 20 entries will fight for 14 spots in the final on February 8. The winner of the final will go on to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.Source
