María Ólafsdóttir will represent Iceland in Eurovision 2015!
The final of the Icelandic selection for Eurovision aired live from Reykjavík tonight, with seven songs competing for the honor of representing Iceland in Vienna in May.
In the end, 21 year-old María Ólafsdóttir and her song “Unbroken,” originally “Lítil skref,” was chosen by the people of Iceland for Eurovision 2015!

A combination of televoting and jury decided a final two, creating a super final, consisting of Friðrik Dór and María Ólafsdóttir. From here, it was fully up to the Icelandic public to decide the winner by televote, ultimately choosing María.
The song was written specifically for the contest by the producing group StopWaitGo, consisting of Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson, Ásgeir Orri Ásgeirsson, and Sæþór Kristjánsson, who contacted María proposing her as the singer of the song, which she happily accepted.
Iceland will participate in the second half of the second semi-final in Vienna.
