Mariko and The Shin to sing "Three Minutes to Earth"
Three weeks ago, it was announced that Mariko Ebralidze and the group The Shin would represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.
Today, the song title was announced. They will sing “Three Minutes to Earth.”
The song was recorded in Stuttgart, Germany, where Eurovision.tv caught up with the artists. “It describes the last three minutes of a long walk back to Earth, back home,” they explained to Eurovision.tv. Shin also means “home.”
The production is being kept natural, meaning the studio track will sound like it is being performed by live instrumentals at a live performance. They describe their style as folk music, mixed with country. It has been composed by The Shin member Zaza Miminoshvili, with the lyrics written by Eugen Eliu.
The song will be revealed sometime in mid-March.
At the allocation draw in Copenhagen, Georgia was drawn into the first half of the second semi-final and will perform on May 8.
