Melodifestivalen 2014 running order revealed

The running order of the 2014 Melodifestivalen contest, to select the Swedish representative for Copenhagen next year, was revealed today. Executive Producer Christer Björkman ensures that the selected order will secure a maximum of drama and celebration.

It will be the viewer favorite YOHIO who opens the first semi-final, live from Malmö Arena, and is thus the very first performer of the contest. YOHIO won the televote of this year’s Melodifestivalen, but lost to Robin Stjernberg due to the votes of the international jury.

Eurovision Song Contest winner Helena Paparizou gets to close that semi-final, getting the coveted 8th and final slot of the night.

The line up of semi-final 1 from Malmö:

1. ”To the End” – YOHIO
2. ”Aleo” – Mahan Moin
3. ”Bröder” – Linus Svenning
4. ”Casanova” – Elisa Lindström
5. ”Bedroom” – Alvaro Estrella
6. ”Songbird” – Ellen Benediktson
7. ”Bygdens son” – Sylvester Schlegel
8. ”Survivor” – Helena Paparizou


In Linköping, JEM opens the show, while the 2005 Melodifestivalen winner Martin Stenmarck gets to close.

The line up of semi-final 2 from Linköping:

3. ”Glow” – Manda
4. ”Efter solsken” – Panetoz
5. ”I Am Somebody” – Pink Pistols
6. ”Undo” – Sanna Nielsen
7. ”Set Yourself Free” – Little Great Things
8. ”När änglarna går hem” – Martin Stenmarck


The third semi-final, live from Göteborg, will be opened by the rock group Outtrigger, who gained attention from a cover of Robin Stjernberg’s winning song “You.” The 90’s star dr. alban will close the show.

In the fourth and final semi-final, to air from Örnsköldsvik, the popular schlager-camp group Alcazar opens the show, with their up-tempo disco song. Finally, the perhaps most coveted performance slot of the contest, the 8th slot in the fourth and semi-final, is given to Anton Ewald.

The first semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2014 will air on February 1. The winner will be found in the final on March 8.
