Melodifestivalen 2016 host cities and dates announced!

SVT, the national broadcaster of Sweden, has announced when and where the 2016 edition of Melodifestivalen will return.

The show will be back in February and will visit one new city, as Sweden will select its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.

 

Dates and cities

February 6: Semi-final 1
Scandinavium, Göteborg

February 13: Semi-final 2
Malmö Arena, Malmö

February 20: Semi-final 3
Himmelstalundshallen, Norrköping

February 27: Semi-final 4
Gavlerinken Arena, Gävle

March 5: Second chance
Halmstad Arena, Halmstad

March 12: Final
Friends Arena, Solna, Stockholm

 

Among the announced cities is a newcomer, Halmstad, situated in between Malmö and Göteborg. The show will once again find its winner in the Friends Arena just outside Stockholm, after having its last final in Globen in 2012.

The shows will air at 20:00 CET on SVT1 and online on SVT Play.
