Moldova begins national selection

TRM, Moldova’s national broadcaster, announced the rules and details for their selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014.

TRM has set a deadline of January 23, 2014 for all applications. Songwriters can be of any nationality, but the artists must be a Moldovan citizen.

When the applications are all received, a jury will initially go through the entries and select an undetermined amount to continue on in the process. After, the jury will then invite 60 entries for live auditions and interviews.

On February 1, the jury will finally bring the number down to 24, which will compete in one of two semi-finals on March 11 or 13.

In each semi-final, seven entries will be selected to move on by 50% jury and 50% televote.  An eighth entry will be selected purely by televote.

On March 15, a final of 16 acts will compete to represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
