Moldova receives 68 entries for national final!

TRM, the Moldovan national broadcaster, has revealed that they have received 68 entries for their national selection process!

This year was the first time that TRM widened participation and accepted entries from other countries. The highest number of international entries came from the United Kingdom who submitted seven. Russia and Spain submitted two entries apiece with Belarus, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Romania and Ukraine submitting one entry each.

We previously interviewed Kitty Brucknell, of UK X Factor fame, who had submitted an entry for consideration for the Swiss national final but was unsuccessful. She is now hoping to represent Moldova instead with tracks Yearning and Remix.

The next stage of the national selection is for the judging panel to select the 50 best recorded entries to move forward to the live performance round. These entries will be decided on the December 17 with the live performance stage taking place, almost a month later than planned, on the January 17. Twenty-four acts from the live performances will make it to the semi-finals.

The national final will be held on the February 28 with two semi-finals taking place prior to that on February 24 and 26. These shows will be broadcast live on Moldova 1, Radio Moldova and online at

Moldova was represented by Cristina Scarlat in 2014 with her song “Wild Soul,” but unfortunately did not qualify for the grand final.
