Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitas for Georgia 2016!
In an internal selection, the Georgian national broadcaster GPB has selected Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitas to represent them in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
The four-member group, which was founded in 2000, is known for their alternative indie music.
Call for songs
Along with the announcement also comes a call for songs, as no song has been selected with them. The broadcaster has requested songs specifically made for the group, of a “melodic song structure of alternative and indie rock with electronic beats, synths and/or samples, and club orientation of post-disco dance music.”
Songwriters have until January 8 to submit their songs. Five songs will be selected by the broadcaster and performed in a show by the group, where the audience and a jury will ultimately select the song for Stockholm.
Check out a live performance by the group with a song called “Gay Swimmer.”
