Official Eurovision 2015 partner: Austrian Post!
It was announced today that Austria’s postal service – Austrian Post – will be an official partner of Eurovision 2015, which will be held in May in the country’s capital!
Dr. Georg Pölzl, who is the director in chief of Austrian Post, said, “The Eurovision Song Contest is much more than a musical show of strength. It is a symbol for a life in peace, freedom and mutual tolerance. The Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in Austria this year for the second time, following the event in 1967. This represents a major success for our country and the domestic music scene. Therefore Austrian Post announces with a great deal of pride and joy that it is an official partner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.”
The director of the EBU, Jon Ola Sand, added: “We’re glad to welcome Austrian Post to the Eurovision Song Contest family as an Official Partner. With their help, the contest will build even stronger bridges across participating countries and beyond.”
With ‘official partner’ status, Austrian Post will gain a wide range of rights in the media, association, event and new media fields during the lead-up to Eurovision 2015. In return, Austrian Post will be branding a percentage of their vehicles and postboxes around the nation with Eurovision related material. The company itself is a multi-billion (2.4) Euro industry in Austria with around 24,000 members of staff at the time of writing.
