Preparations for Vienna are underway!
On Tuesday, the Mayor of Vienna, Dr. Michael Häupl and ORF’s Director General, Dr. Alexander Wrabetz, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, ahead of preparations for Eurovision 2015 in Vienna.
The document states that ORF and the city of Vienna will co-operate fully in order to host the biggest music event of the year.
Allocation draw on January 26
The city will organize the annual Insignia Ceremony, the Semi-Final Allocation draw, and the Welcome Reception on May 17. ORF will be responsible for shows and events at the Eurovision Village and the Euroclub. ORF will also be in charge of the press and delegation facilities, logistics and security of the 60th contest.
Tickets and more in November
The sale of tickets for the 60th contest is expected to be in November. There is no fixed date yet as negotiations are still ongoing. Alexander Wrabetz warns not to purchase “tickets” ahead of the official release date as these so called “tickets” would be fakes and have nothing to do with ORF.
In mid-November, ORF will begin looking for up to 800 volunteers to help with the contest. November will also see the decision of the locations of Eurovision Village and the Euroclub. The theme art and logo for the 2015 contest will be revealed in December.
The Head of Delegations meetings will be on March 16 and 17 in Vienna.
