Recap of first dress rehearsal of Semi-Final 2
Videos and gallery below.
At 15:00 CET today, the first dress rehearsal of the second semi-final took place.
This was the first time that the whole show was run through, and complete with a live audience of children for the Eurovision School Contest 2014.
The first dress rehearsal went pretty smoothly, minus an audio problem with Lise Rønne after the first recap of the songs. She was not heard for over five seconds.
Ovi from Romania missed the first few words of the song, but other than that, he sang perfectly.
Also, when a live feed from Australia was supposed to appear on the background, a live feed of Pakistani television channel PTV appeared instead.
Vilija Matačiūnaitė from Lithuania had on the same outfit, but this time, had a black leathery top on.
Georgia had the same background as the second rehearsals, despite vocally about being unhappy with it previously.
The interval act started with a showcase from Australia, with dancers onstage in that theme. Soon after, Jessica Mauboy was introduced and performed an original song for the audience. Upon the conclusion of the song, an astronaut with a flag descended from the ceiling to the stage.
Throughout the show, once again, there were sequences from the “Eurovision Book of Records,” but no Eurovision stars in the audience.
The interval act right before the announcement of the qualifiers was part of the #JoinUs theme. Previously, DR and EBU asked people throughout Europe to send videos of themselves dancing. In the act, the invited dancers performed onstage to “Calabria” by the late Danish singer Natasja. The dancers ranged from very young to elderly.
The second dress rehearsal starts tonight at 21:00 CET and will be the show in which the jury votes for Semi-Final 2, counting for 50% of the final result.
