Remedios Amaya: "I owe everything to Eurovision"

Remedios Amaya: “I owe everything to Eurovision”
Alvaro Sanabria

Spanish flamenco singer Remedios Amaya (Eurovision 1983) talked about her participation at the Eurovision Song Contest to the newspaper Noticias de Navarra.

Amaya represented Spain in Munich with the flamenco song “Quién maneja mi barca” (“Who sails my boat“).

In spite of placing 19 (out of 20) in Munich with null points, Amaya says she has never regretted having participated in Eurovision.

I owe a lot to ‘Quién maneja mi barca.’ I remember my participation in Eurovision as one of the most beautiful moments in my life.  Thanks to that, people still recognize me because of that song.  When I participate on music events, people still request it.

Amaya recently took part in the “Flamenco con fire” music festival in Pamplona.
