12 Songs Become 6
Semi-finals will be held on March 4, where 12 songs will be narrowed down to six, four of which are decided by a jury and the remaining two decided by the public through televoting. The finals will then take place on the the 6th of March.
Final Decided Purely by Public Votes
In a change to past years, this year’s final of the Romanian national selection will be completely decided by a public vote. The winner will then go on to represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.
Romania’s Success at the Eurovision Song Contest
Romania has fared quite well at the Eurovision Song Contest. Along with Russia and Greece, Romania has always qualified to the Grand Final since the introduction of the semi-final rounds in 2004.
Last year, Romania was represented by Voltaj with the song “De la capăt (All Over Again)” and placed 15th in the Grand Final in Vienna.
