San Marino internally selects Serhat for Eurovision 2016!
SMRTV of San Marino has announced that the Turkish-born singer Serhat will represent the small nation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016!
The choice was made internally, after receiving proposals from singers and songwriters.
Serhat, born Ahmet Serhat Hacıpaşalıoğlu in Istanbul in 1964, was given a German education in his hometown at the Deutsche Schule, and is trained in dentistry. Besides singing, he also has experience hosting TV shows, once hosting the Turkish Jeopardy, which he also produced through his own production company.
The singer has recently had success on the dance charts in Germany, the UK, and several other European countries, with the song Je M’Adore.
At the press conference, Serhat expressed how honored he was to be given the opportunity to represent San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest and further stated that there will be “something impressive on stage.”
