Semi-Final Allocation Draw for Eurovision 2017 on January 31

On January 31, the Semi-Final Allocation Draw and Host City Insignia Exchange will take place in Kyiv.

After much silence regarding this event, the date and time was announced by the EBU today, less than a week before.

The Host City Insignia Exchange will involve the city of Stockholm handing the "contest" over to Kyiv mayor Vitaly Klitschko. The ceremony will precede the draw and will begin at 11.00 CET.

The ceremonies will take place in the Column Hall at the Kyiv City State Administration.

France, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, and Ukraine will draw which semi-final that they will be required to vote in and broadcast. Germany has already been approved to vote in and broadcast Semi-Final 2 on May 11.

Also, the 37 semi-finalists will be drawn into a particular semi-final based on which pot that they are assigned.
