Alvaro Sanabria

Serbia decided to internally select their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 and RTS, the Serbian public broadcaster, has made big plans to reveal their representative.  The announcement will be revealed in a special show called Serbia’s Song For Europe.

All the details about the Serbian representative have been kept secret until now.  The show is thus aimed to create big expectations from the Eurovision fans.  Serbia’s Song For Europe, will be aired on Thursday, March 12 at 21:00 CET.

A big surprise for the Eurovision fans

RTS decided to send something new to the contest.  The representative was selected by RTS music editors which decided to compete with “a new face” in the music industry.

According to Dragan Ilic, the head of the Serbian delegation, the Serbian representative for the 2016 contest will be “a completely new face, a young and talented artist”.  However, Ilic is confident that the song will be a big surprise for the Eurovision fans in Serbia and abroad.

What makes this selection different, according to Ilic is that RTS increased their support and financial resources to the national selection mobilizing producers, authors, and the orchestra to chose the best act.

Bojana Stamenov represented Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna.  She came in 10th place with Beauty Never Lies.
