Sergey Lazarev to represent Russia in Eurovision 2016
One of the most popular singers in Russia, Sergey Lazarev, will represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm!
This information was confirmed on Thursday during the Russian National Music Awards in Moscow, where Sergey was the winner in the nomination “singer of the year.”

“Dear friends!! I am really happy and honored to represent my country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016! I am looking forward to this exiting experience and I hope you will all love my song as much as I do. Wish me luck)) thank you)) 😉😉”
Philipp Kirkorov involved
Sergey Lazarev previously attempted to represent Russia by entering the national final in 2008, being beaten by eventual Eurovision winner Dima Bilan.
More information and the song which russian representative will sing on the stage in Sweden will be announced soon. Philipp Kirkorov, one of the most successful artists and composers is Russia, is likely to be involved with the song, as he tweeted the announcement too. Kirkorov was part of the team that created the 2014 entry “Shine.”
