Six acts qualify in first quarter final of A Dal 2016 in Hungary
Ten acts competed in the first quarter final of the Hungarian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, A Dal 2016 this past Saturday.
The show was broadcast by Duna TV and on the Mediaklikk.hu website.
Hosted by Csilla Tatár and Levente Harsányi, 10 acts performed to get the votes from the four-member expert jury, consisting of Zséda, Pierrot, Károly Frenreisz and Miklós Both, and the TV public, which acts as a fifth jury member, having 20 % of the vote.
This was the list of the acts that performed in the first semi-final (qualifiers in bold)

Benji, one of the qualifiers, shared his surprise after the local newspaper Borsonline published that him, András Kállay-Saunders, and Isaac Palmer have been criticized for their “non-Hungarian origin.” Benji commented: “I find outrageous that someone is using such strategies to weaken our merits. I was born and went to school here and sing in Hungarian.”
The next quarter finals will take place on January 30 and February 6, with the semi-finals scheduled for February 13 and 20.
The Hungarian national final will take place in February 27.
