Split jury and televote result of semi-final 1 of Eurovision 2015

Split jury and televote result of semi-final 1 of Eurovision 2015

The grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 has concluded with Sweden being chosen as the clear winner.

Now, the full split votes for each show have been revealed by the EBU.

Russia wins both

The winner of the first semi-final, as bookmakers predicted, was Russia, with 182 points. Russia had a 33 point lead over second place act Loïc Nottet from Belgium, who achieved Belgium’s best score in a semi-final since Tom Dice in 2010. One of this year’s fan favourites, Estonia, finished in third place with 105 points.

Russia was chosen as the winner of semi-final one by both jury voters and televoters. They disagreed on second place, however, as jury voters preferred Belgium, and televoters preferred Estonia.

Moldova was the unfortunate country to come in eleventh place, just missing out in a place in the grand final.

Finland would have made it

Surprisingly, Finland, who bookmakers predicted would finish sixth in the final, finished last in semi-final one, with just 13 points. Had the finalists been chosen purely by televoting however, Finland would have made it to the final, placing 10th with televoters.

Jury votes placed The Netherlands in 5th place, however combining votes meant that Trijntje Oosterhuis finished in a disappointing 14th place.

Televote saves Serbia

What seemed to be the favourite entry of the press this year, Serbia’s Bojana Stamenov, would not even have qualified for the final if it had been completely up to the jury vote. They placed Bojana in 14th place, while televoters placed her at 7th.
