For the first time ever, the Grand Final of Eurovision was broadcast live in USA, introducing the States to the worldwide phenomenon. After trying to explain what is Eurovision, Stephen Colbert asked why America isn’t allowed to compete.

“Why can’t we compete? We’re the most European country in the world,” Colbert told. “We invented the Frappuccino and the G-string. We eat more pizza than Italy, and we’re *this* close to electing Benito Mussolini,” concluded Colbert.

After this, he came out with a dress like Sia at a disco, performing his idea for an American entry in Eurovision 2017, with the lyrics – “I love living the living life.”
